In business since 1984, GCS is a software development company headquartered in New York, NY. Our customers are nationwide and we have two large concentrated high-fashion markets on the east and west coasts -- New York and Los Angeles.

MEET THE EXECUTIVE TEAM
After studying economics and political science at Tufts University in 1984, James graduated Cum Laude and began his career in banking, joining Citicorp. After just two years, his focus shifted to entrepreneurship and he formed his own company.
In 1986, GCS Computers began selling hardware to major financial institutions. Shortly after, GCS began selling hardware to the apparel industry.
The company has grown and thrived ever since. In 1997, through his work with fashion clients, James recognized a need for a truly integrated ERP system specifically for the unique needs of the fashion industry and proceeded to build A2000 Software to meet that need. A2000 software quickly became the industry standard software. Now on version 21, A2000 software is relied upon by over 500 brands. James added to the company’s portfolio of businesses by purchasing H.M.S. (Hospitality Management Systems) in 2003 which now provides POS systems to over 700 restaurants in the NY Metropolitan area.
When he is not working, James loves spending time boating and enjoying home life with his wife and their six children.

With over 40 years in the software and the soft goods industry (apparel, home furnishing, footwear and more) Carene's expertise is second to none.
From software design to implementation to consulting and training, Carene's expertise covers every facet of the industry. In 1997, Carene partnered with James Gottlieb to form the A2000 software division of GCS. She was and continues to be instrumental in the developmental direction of A2000 software, and seeks to continually improve, simplify and streamline the business functions.
Carene's focus on customer care has enabled the business to enjoy continued growth while maintaining many of the original clients who have grown from just a few users to hundreds of users within the platform. Her illustrious career started at Christian Dior where she designed and implemented every aspect of their IT infrastructure. Her expertise in the industry makes her uniquely suited to bring A2000 to market.
Starting her career working for a large wholesale apparel company, Debbie defined and implemented new systems throughout the company. Working with nearly 30 different brands at the company, diverse knowledge was acquired of the process flow, operations, and systems implementation.
After nearly 20 years in the wholesale market, she changed direction to work on the software side where she worked on high profile projects and accounts as Director of Pre Sales at Computer Generated Solutions for nearly 10 years. She joined GCS 13 years ago and is currently in the role of Vice President.
With focused efforts on Presales through implementation and customer go live, this ensures a smooth transition and fulfills customer expectations. Customer satisfaction and setting the proper expectation of the implementation is a key factor to the success of our projects.
